Indigenous History Frequently Asked Questions
The St. Eugene Mission school operated from 1912 to 1970, instructing over 5,000 children from the Okanagan, Shuswap, Blackfoot and Ktunaxa Nations. It was a dark time for our people and instead of tearing down the building, we powerfully chose to reclaim our history and culture, turning St. Eugene’s into a beautiful resort that supports our people.
