Now more of our customers can have their cake – and eat it too! This season we have introduced a gluten-free alternative to the Purcell Grill & Fisher Peak dessert menus. St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino’s Sous Chef, Doug Wagner proudly unveiled his latest creation this past week and already it is receiving rave reviews!
Chef Doug realized his greatest challenge would be to create a flour-less cake that would hold the texture and consistency of regular cake, and still remain moist. After many hours of creating and tweaking his base recipe, he was finally satisfied, and the delectable dessert was unveiled to our guests this past Thursday.
Our new Quinoa Chocolate Cake, topped with an Espresso Buttercream, is indeed very moist, rich in flavour, and an ideal sweet finish to any meal, whether you are gluten resistant or not. Come sample a slice – we swear it’s the finest in the Kootenays!
