Downhill Skiing

Kimberley Alpine Resort at just a 30 min drive away, KAR is the hidden gem of the East Kootenay’s, enjoy the same cold smoke powder with half the lift lines. With the longest night skiing run in North America, Kimberley Alpine Resort is an all day adventure!

Fernie Alpine Resort is an hour drive from St. Eugene Resort. Quickly becoming the ski destination in the BC Rockies, Fernie is a legendary resort known for having varied terrain to appeal to all levels.

Panorama Mountain Resort is a further drive at 1 hr and 45 min, however the views and activities along the way make the drive fly by. Snowy peaks offer premium skiing and riding for the whole family

Snowshoeing

Kimberley Nature Park  is one of Canada’s largest urban parks. Trails vary from wide and gently sloping to narrow, steep single track. The Kimberley Nature Park is great for hiking and biking in the warmer months, and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.

South Star Trails  just southeast of Cranbrook, the south star trails are a system of multi-use, non-motorized trails. A place of beauty and solitude, enjoy the scenic lakes, old growth forests and undulating trails.

Kimberley Alpine Resort A great activity for all ability levels, snowshoeing at Kimberley Alpine Resort takes the experience even higher for both beginners and seasoned snowshoe-ers. The top tour choice among families is the twilight tour which includes a delicious chocolate fondue at the mountain top Kootenay Haus!

 

Snowmobiling

Lumberton Trails The Cranbrook Snowmobile Club maintains 50 kilometres of groomed trails in the Lumberton area. Lumberton area in particular boasts spectacular views and has numerous snowmobiling possibilities.

Kimberley Snowmobile Adventures The area has great terrain which includes groomed trails, massive glaciers, and mountains topped with fresh snow. Snowfall is generous around this area, resulting in lots of powder and a long season.

Cross Country Skiing

Kimberley Nordic Centre is a first class facility consisting of a variety of snowcat groomed trails complete with double track, single track and a centre skating lane. There are also narrow single track trails to accommodate the more adventuresome bushwhacker. These trails, set and not, are of varying degrees of difficulty and length to accommodate all levels of nordic skiers.

Hot Springs

Nothing beats a soak in a natural hot spring after a long day of outdoor adventuring! The region offers a wide variety from the all natural Lussier Hot Springs to the family favorite, Radium Hot Springs.

Immerse yourself in the soothing, mineral-rich waters and enjoy the panoramic mountain views surrounding Fairmont Hot springs or take a path less traveled to Ainsworth’s horseshoe-shaped cave that encourages soakers to wriggle back into what feels like the bowels of the earth.
