Rails To Trails

The East Kootenay region is known for its beautiful scenery and walking, running, biking, rollerblading, or skateboarding can be a great way to appreciate that scenery. A great trail that can be adapted for any of these non-motorized activities, as well as any age or fitness level, is the Kimberley-Cranbrook Rail to Trails recreation path.

Canada Cup of Curling

It might still be summer, but it’s already time to start thinking about the Canada Cup of Curling!  This year it is taking place in Cranbrook from November 30th to December 4th and we are very excited to be a presenting sponsor!

Yesterday, Christmas came in August for Cranbrook's own Santa Claus!  Known for playing Santa for the local children, George (Snuffy) was surprised when his slot machine suddenly locked up and played the animation of an old prospector riding his mining chart.

St. Eugene Church Restoration

The St. Eugene Church, one of the few Victorian-era wooden churches left in British Columbia, is on its way to restoration!  St. Mary’s Indian Band has announced that restoration is slated to begin soon and that they hope to have it open to the public by early next year.
